In spring 2023, we launched Amiflex®, the first registered amitraz “flash” treatment in the U.S. without temperature constraints during use. However, Amiflex was classified under RUP (Restricted Use Pesticides) status, meaning it can only be applied by certified users who have completed specialized training and are licensed by state or federal authorities for using such products with restricted use.

Now, driven by our commitment to offering a more accessible, a user certification-free solution in the USA, we took decisive action and introduced a fully accessible treatment for all beekeepers – Amiflex® 2.0 – delivering the same trusted performance as the original Amiflex®. The formulation, packaging, and conditions of use remain totally unchanged from the original Amiflex® except from the removal of RUP license requirement.

We are pleased to announce that Amiflex® has recently been registered in Canada. The product is the same as in the USA. The formulation and packaging of Amiflex® in Canada and Amiflex® 2.0 in the United States are identical. The only differences are the product name – used for registration purposes – and the maximum number of applications allowed per year – 2 applications in Canada compared to 4 applications in the United States.

Amiflex® / Amiflex 2.0® are registered amitraz “flash” treatments in the USA, without temperature constraints

Amiflex / Amiflex 2.0 is an innovative varroa mite treatment based on amitraz. It is the result of 6 years of R&D by the Véto-pharma team. The goal was to provide a legal, safe and ready-to-use “flash” amitraz product for commercial beekeepers. Challenge accepted!

The Amiflex / Amiflex 2.0 gel provides an easy way to treat hives before, between or after honey flows, or just before starting a slow-release treatment, without temperature constraints.1

With its gel formulation and contact delivery system, Amiflex delivers a rapid kock-down effects, reducing varroa mite populations.
